Lose yourself in nature at Four Seasons’ new Seychelles resort

Four Seasons Seychelles at Desroches Island is a stunning, unspoilt paradise with white beaches and lush jungle. The newly opened Four Seasons resort is the only one on the whole island, leaving a huge expanse of natural landscape free for guests to explore.

This resort aims to allow visitors to spend their entire stay on the island barefoot; anyone looking to swap this tranquillity for a little more social action can island-hop between here and Four Seasons’ other Seychelles resort on the larger island of Mahé.

The rooms are decorated in a relaxed ‘rustic chic’ style with natural fabrics and bohemian touches. With the choice of Sunset Beach or Coral Beach as the setting, villas range in size from one to seven bedrooms – and many have plunge pools.

While The Deli is the most relaxed spot to eat, the most spectacular dining at the resort starts with drinks and breathtaking views at The Lighthouse, before heading to the dining space below for freshly grilled fare. There’s also a restaurant serving a Mediterranean menu, and a bar offering poolside refreshments by day, cocktails at sunset, and Creole tapas, cigars and shisha through the evening.

Fans of water sports can head to the Castaway Centre for scuba diving, stand-up paddleboarding, ocean fishing or guided snorkelling with a WiseOceans Marine Educator. On dry land, there is cycling treks and hiking through 15 kilometres of trails.

In addition to the nature walks (led by a member of the Island Conservation Society), animal lovers will also love the nearby Tortoise Sanctuary. The resort’s Discovery Centre allows guests to learn about the unique natural habitat of the Seychelles.

Guests can relax in the villas’ plunge pools, stretch out at the yoga pavilion or indulge at the Circle of Connection spa – while those aged between four and 12 are kept safely occupied at the Kids for All Seasons facility. It has an outdoor playground, recreation pavilion and air-conditioned relaxation rooms, plus a range of supervised educational and sports activities.
