The Manchester Derby—A Battle for Bragging Rights at the FA Cup Final 2023

The 2023 FA Cup Final is almost here, and it promises to be one of the most exciting matches of the year. Manchester City will take on Manchester United on Saturday, 03 June 2023, at 3 PM, and football fans worldwide will be tuning in to see which team comes out on top.

This year’s FA Cup Final is also a derby match between two of the biggest rivals in English football, the first in the competition’s long and illustrious history. Manchester United already have the 2023 EFL Cup under their belt, having beaten Newcastle United in the final earlier this year, while Manchester City are chasing an historic treble. The clash will be a symbolic battle over who has the boasting rights as Manchester’s best team, and the stakes couldn’t be higher.

The highly-anticipated event will wrap up the domestic season of English football. The current holders are Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool after they beat Chelsea 6-5 on penalties last summer. However, the Reds were knocked out by Brighton in round four.

Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has said, “It’s the fourth time in a row we are here, and the last three against Arsenal, Chelsea and Liverpool, we could not do it.” Meanwhile, Manchester United manager Ten Hag has promised to give his all, saying, “We will give everything and when I say everything, that is everything, more than 100% you can’t do, the fans can rely on that. We want to give that against City. We want to give the fans that.”
