Venice Art Biennale: Known as the art olympics, the latest Venice Biennale will run from May 11 – November 24. This year’s central exhibition is being curated by Ralph Rugoff, the director of London’s prestigious Hayward Gallery, and the overall programme features a record number of female artists, including Turner Prize-winner Laure Prouvost representing France; Cathy Wilkes representing Great Britain; and Renate Bertlmann for Austria. All-in-all, the Biennale will see 79 artists from all over the world, participating in 90 national events and 21 collateral events, all as part of the official programme, making Venice the ideal getaway for art lovers in 2019.

The Other Art Fair: With fairs across the globe in the US, UK and Australia, each edition of The Other Art Fair inspires and delights with itsdistinctive programme, offering the very best in emerging and undiscovered artists. From 4-7 July, more than 140 artists will descend on the Handyside Canopy in Kings Cross for the 17th summer edition of the fair in London. Expect the unexpected, not unlike last year’s work fromRebecca Masonentitled The Sorry Stall, which enabled visitors of the fair to write apologies (anonymously or on an attributed basis) for things they regretted. A selection were then displayed on the stand, posted on social media and some of the best (and worst!) formed the inspiration for Rebecca’s neon artworks, just one example from this tightly curated programming of up-and-coming artists.h

The Lausanne Art Fair:  Amateur art lovers and enthusiastic collectors alike will be in their element among the paintings, sculptures and photographs displayed at the third edition of the international contemporary Lausanne Art Fair taking place at the Expo Beaulieu on 2-5 May. Over the four days, the 6.000 square-metre space will be home to over 3,000 artworks, all offered for sale. Amongst the 80 international galleries participating, guests will both revel in works by the old masters and be introduced to newcomers originating from all four corners of the world. It’s a place for artists, gallery owners and art lovers to meet and exchange both ideas and passions.
