Spotlight: Ritz Paris Revamp

Reopened after an extensive restoration, Ritz Paris is now welcoming guests again. While preserving the spirit of the 18th-century belle époque era edifice, the storied hotel offers guests all the modern convenience one may require when visiting Paris. Located in Place Vendome, the building was converted to a hotel by Swiss hotelier Cesar Ritz in 1898 after being accused of stealing wine in his previous post from the Savoy in London.

The hotel features 142 rooms and 71 suites, one of which is the renowned Coco Chanel suite. Coco Chanel famously lived at the hotel for 34 years until her death, and the suite pays homage to the legacy she left behind. Legend has it that the hotel was the inspiration behind the design of the Chanel No. 5 bottle.

The spa is also named after the celebrated couturiere. Featuring 800,000 mosaic tiles, the Chanel Spa includes an underground swimming pool. The spa is fully stocked with Chanel beauty products and treatments. It is the first spa in the world to be exclusively dedicated to Chanel. The luxury brand states there is a “strong bond that united Chanel and the Ritz Paris”.

This property is also home to cosy bar named after Ernest Hemingway. The Hemingway Bar features memorabilia belonging to the legendary writer. Open from a bistro for breakfast to an evening bar at night, this bar memorializes its most famous patron.
