Unforgettable undersea yoga at Hurawalhi

Wellness devotees seeking the ultimate yoga experience should head to the Maldivian resort of Hurawalhi, which is now offering monthly sessions in its stunning underwater dining space, 5.8 Undersea Restaurant.

Sitting almost six metres under the sea, the glass-walled room is surrounded by shoals of tropical fish and dappled with sunlight as it dances through the waters of the Indian Ocean – transforming an already restorative and relaxing yoga class into an unforgettable experience.

The rest of the resort is equally as breathtaking – the adults-only, all-inclusive island hosts 90 villas offering a mix of beach, sea and sunset views across the unspoilt Lhaviyani Atoll. The nearby coral reef is home to thousands of species of tropical fish, plus manta rays, turtles and dolphins – all under the watchful eye of the resort’s Marine Biology Centre.

The Beach Sunset Pool Villa comes with a 27m² infinity pool and private sundeck from which to wander into the lagoon beyond for ocean swimming. Inside, there’s a bathroom with rain shower and a spacious sitting area with 48-inch flat screen TV and Bluetooth sound bar.

The Champagne Pavilion is built on the westernmost part of the island, making it the perfect place for pre-dinner drinks while watching the sun set. And there’s often more to take in, too; wildlife-spotters are regularly rewarded with sightings of passing manta rays and dolphins.
